WOMEN IN INNOVATION (WIN) SUMMIT

I just wanted to post that my Representative, Mr. Jared Polis will be hosting this seminar.  You might want to see what your local government officials are doing about creating opportunities for women.

I'll be handing out flyers for my next Caring Economy Slide Show, as well as encouraging others to invite me to their workplace.  And of course, I'll take this opportunity ti nudge him a bit more concerning sponsoring a Caring Economy Day in Boulder!

Love to hear what the rest of you are doing too!

Melissa

Here's a copy of Jared's letter to his constituents:

Dear Friend:

Women are as crucial to our nation's economic success as men, yet still earn significantly less than male coworkers. Despite making up nearly half the workforce, two-thirds of working women are concentrated in only 25 of 504 occupational categories, most of which are among the lowest paid occupations. While our society has made significant strides in eliminating gender disparity, it's clear we still have a great deal left to accomplish.

On March 28th, I'll be hosting a Women in Innovation Summit with women entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers and other private and public leaders. I hope that you'll attend and share your ideas on equal pay, workforce training, bridging the gender gap, or any other issue that's on your mind.
